As the daughter of a professional seamstress, I was at first hesitant to order custom drapes online. I was quickly won over by the speedy shipment of the sample fabrics I had ordered. The fabrics were of the highest quality and every question or concern I had was easily put to rest by the outstanding customer representatives. I ordered my first pair of double width french pleated silk curtains for my dining room. The drapes arrived beautifully wrapped and with such care that it was obvious the company took great pride in its product. The lining, stitching and detail work are all incredible. I was so reassured that I hired them again to create treatments for my study a few months later. The typical turn around time is 5-8 weeks. As the 8 week mark approached, I received notice that my fabric was still not available from the mill and I was given the option to wait for it’s arrival or change my fabric choice. I decided to wait. In the meantime, the fabric was further discounted. The representatives at DrapeStyle did not hesitate to adjust my order to my benefit. Furthermore, they expedited my order so that once the fabric arrived, it would be only a week before the drapes were in my hands. Once again, they are stunning. And so for the third time, I have placed an order with DrapeStyle to custom make drapes for my living room. I know they will be greater than I can even envision. We just love when we get little tiny short and unsolicited reviews from our Customers. There are like tiny little hugs.
Although we don’t like “bad reviews” and, yes, we get them. Making custom drapes is as much an Art as it is a “Science” and sometimes we make mistakes. Our process for poor reviews is more important than the process for good reviews for obvious reasons. When we get a poor review we embrace it and try to learn from it. We share it Company Wide. And then, we meet and to discuss it and determine “what happened” and “how to make sure it never happens again”. The reality of the matter is that everyone is going to get the occasional bad review. They should really be looked at as “learning opportunities”. What we learn from them is often priceless.
